TCA advises the City of London on groundbreaking initiative for green finance and technology cooperation between the UK and China.
TCA is proud to have advised the City of London in the launch of the London-Beijing Green Technology Investment Gateway, a groundbreaking initiative for green finance and technology cooperation between the UK and China, announced at the UK-China 10th Economic Financial Dialogue between UK's Chancellor of the Exchequer and Chinese Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua.
TCA, in partnership with Syer Advisers, were instrumental in designing the Gateway and ensuring it meets the expectations of international companies and investors. Leveraging their combined expertise in sustainable investment strategies, they engaged with key stakeholders on the ground in both the UK and China, resulting in an agreement that reflects a shared commitment to a green and sustainable future.
Rob McCombie, CEO of TCA, commented:
“We are immensely proud to have been part of this initiative. Our team worked tirelessly with our partners in London and Beijing to bring this vision to life. The enthusiasm and dedication to this project on both sides has been impressive, and we remain firmly committed to ensuring the Gateway is a success for all parties."
The Gateway will serve as a platform for transnational investment in green technologies, acting as a conduit between green finance and transitioning sectors, with the ultimate goal of driving sustainable economic growth and promoting eco-friendly practices.
A physical presence will be established in Tongzhou, Beijing, functioning as a market entry point for UK and international green technology companies looking to penetrate the Chinese market. Conversely, it will maintain a reciprocal presence in London to assist Chinese green technology firms in reaching a global market.
Investment funds based in London and Beijing will reinforce the Gateway, enhancing support for green tech firms and startups. Furthermore, an Advisory Board will be put together to devise a strategic plan for the Gateway, ensuring alignment with the needs of international firms and investors.
The Gateway underscores the UK and China's shared dedication to a green and sustainable future, reinforcing their commitment to the Paris Agreement and national objectives. A series of events in London and Beijing will mark the Gateway's launch, offering green technology companies a chance to learn more about the benefits of this project.
